Mayflower Community Centre

The Mayflower Community Centre was conceived as the unifying space within a masterplan that aimed to bridge the gap between students and Plymouth's local community. Site analysis revealed a cultural diversity and vibrancy that remained invisible within the city centre. Thus, the project aimed to create a civic space that made a mark on its citizens whilst equally allowing its citizens to make a mark on it. This was achieved by placing a series of moving walls to adapt the spaces to its user's needs, but more notably, by designing a cladding system meant to be replaced by cladding created in the upcycling workshop within the building.
